Without you, I never would have gotten to Greece in the first place for the February audition. Some of you found my story on the internet and, inspired by it, wrote to me. Often, your emails arrived at a time when I needed them the most. And now I feel like I'm going for the gold. Every step of the way has seemed impossible, but little by little I'm getting there, often just when I'm ready to give up! And every time I feel despair and say "I can't," a voice inside says, "how can I not." With your help, I'll get to Athens and at last realize a dream that has been in my heart for so many years. Many people sending small donations can make a difference. I think we lose sight of that fact that for some a meal at a fast-food place is a cheap meal...but for others it's an extravagance. Nothing is provided to volunteer performers (me) in the way of transportation, accommodations, and probably not food. Only our costumes are provided...and the opportunity to make history!
